April 28 Message

“If our hopes of building a better and safer world are to become more than wishful thinking, we will need the engagement of volunteers more than ever.” – Kofi Annan

Shabbat Shalom!

I wonder how many of you know that April 23rd through April 29th is known as “National Volunteer Week”? This was established in 1974 to give each of us the opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who lend their time, talent, voice and support…

So, I say to each of you…Thank you for serving your sisterhood, your region, and Women’s League! Thank you for all that you do..the hours at meetings, the hours stuffing envelopes, the phone calls and emails…and so much more. We give of ourselves because we know, deep in our hearts, that it is our mission to give back….and though we give…we receive so much more….we receive knowledge, skills and best of all…our friendships.

Thank you for giving your time to our network of Conservative Jewish women. I hope to see many of you at convention…to thank you in person.

Wishing you each a very sweet Shabbat….and thank you to my friend, Janet Kirschner, for letting me know about “National Volunteer Week”!
