Letter from the President of Women's League, Rita Wertlieb

Welcome to Women's League for Conservative Judaism's website.

As you look through the site, you will find a vast array of materials, services and programs for your use. The site is constantly being updated, so to keep up-to-date with all that's happening in Women's League, be sure to visit often.

The materials, services and support offered to our members come in many forms. We offer training services to sisterhoods, regions and leadership, as well as customized and innovative educational materials, consulting and networking opportunities for members. Among our newest services are Distance Workshops for sisterhood leaders to take in the comfort of their own homes.

Our goal is to be accessible and to make it easy for every member to connect with us - and with each other - at all levels.

We encourage you to reach out to perspective new members in your community and to reconnect with those you haven't seen in a while. Encourage the women in your congregation who haven't joined sisterhood to do so. Show them all that sisterhood can do for them, teach them. Give them the opportunity to develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Show them that by joining sisterhood they are joining a network of vibrant women who care about the communities in which they live.

Do you like to be challenged... inspired... creative... spiritual?

Women's League and sisterhood have something for everyone!

Jewish Learning: Look to Divrei Hochmah; Rosh Chodesh groups; Women's League Institutes; Distance Workshops; Days of Study

Spiritual: Create a Hiddur Mitzvah project to enhance the performance of mitzvot in your synagogue

Israel: join our next mission to Israel; learn more about the Masorti Women's group your region supports; look for our on-line Israel updates and articles

Special Interest Groups: Z'havah for the younger member, mah jong, bridge, book clubs, bowling. Start a SIG in your sisterhood

Community Service: create a kehillah kedoshah - a sacred community - by adopting a shelter or supporting tikkun olam - repairing the world - in your community

Crafts: Download our Creative Jewish Arts patterns and directions

The materials to create any of these progams are available on this website. As a member of Women's League, there is no charge, so feel free to look at them and try them out. If you are not yet a member of a sisterhood, there may be a Women's League sisterhood nearby. You can click here for a list or contact us directly for individual membership.

Be sure to take advantage of region conferences, education days and Torah Fund events. Bring new members with you and share the opportunity to network and learn from others.

This website has been created to strengthen our sisterhoods, while offering the opportunity for our members to better themselves through study, creativity and intellectual stimulation. We hope that you will join us and take advantage of all that Women's League for Conservative Judaism has to offer.
