Women’s League for Conservative Judaism Schedules Annual Meeting and Mini-Symposium on the Environment
The Women’s League annual meeting will be held at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanical Garden on Sunday, October 18, 2009. Following the meeting a mini-symposium will be dedicated to the environment. All Women’s League members are invited to both the meeting and symposium. The meeting will include a devar Torah by Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson, dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, and a vote on Women’s League bylaws revisions (download the revisions with explanations by clicking here).
The symposium will begin with a luncheon followed by a panel discussion featuring Rabbi Ahud Sela, of Sinai Temple, Los Angeles, and arboretum staff members. Breakout sessions will include a tour of the arboretum’s grounds.
As an added bonus, there will be a Shabbaton with members of the Pacific Southwest Region at the American Jewish University Conference Center, in Los Angeles, October 16-17.
